A group of trailer park tenants in Ed Pagel's Trailer Park in Fort Morgan, Colorado are outraged after they got a letter from the trailer trash landlord that they say encourages them to vote Trump and with a vague threat that if Biden wins he will DOUBLE their rents but if Trump wins he won't increase for 2 YEARS!!

On the key line it says "Voting is your choice and we are not telling you how to vote. We are just informing our tenants what WE will do according to the election results"

To some, that sounds like an effort to influence votes for Trump rather than Biden which is a form of voter suppression

The Colorado Secretary of State's Office said they got a complaint and have forwarded it to the state's attorney general, Democrat Phil Weiser

Cindy Marquez says "How could someone say something like that or basically threaten us according to something that we can't control?"

Bernie Pagel, the landlord of this park wrote that letter as he says rent increases will be necessary under Biden as prices of taxes, utilities and groceries will rise on Biden.

Those claims are unfounded

Silver Spur Campground, an RV Park located in Fort Morgan caters to utility workers advertises for rent of 625 to 650 a month

Marquez has lived there for 20 years and the damage of a significant increase will hurt them and says "Our family lives paycheque to paycheque and right now we barely make things out with what we got"

I'm not sure what legality there is on the rent, I think it depends on what programs may be involved... but threatening people to vote one way with consequences seems illegal?

I believe so. Though, this is worse. She could vote Trump and still have her rent doubled because its not mike she personally gets to choose on her own...
