And the world will go back to normal? It's been Trump this and Trump that for the past 4 years and commentary on the administration used in media and blah blah blah. Will people go back to talking about literally anything else so people who aren't into politics can have a good time again? Honestly, this might be good motivation to vote Biden if true. >_>

What. Your social bubble might need some expansionl if you have trouble finding people who don't talk about politics 24/7.

Nah, politicians are now fully engrossed in all forms of social media, so they're now omnipresent in daily life unless you disconnect from the internet. We'll definitely have a lot less meltdowns from the left, but the right is going to go full moron with their criticisms of Biden if he wins.

Career activists wouldn't like that so probably not, although I'm sure media companies that made bank of ragging on Trump will either have to find something else to write click bait about or die out.

The boring pre-social media C-Span era of politics is dead.

The phrase shoving politics into everything bothers the shit out of me

Like, almost everything is political in one way or another. Games, film, literature, music, they've always had political messages in them, you just weren't paying attention

During the Bush administration, Hollywood put everything on hold to take shots at the War on Terror, government surveillance, the religious right, and "Dubaya" himself. Avatar, The Dark Knight, Quantum of Solace, There Will Be Blood, and V for Vendetta were just a few of the films in this territory.

In some cases, creativity is put on hold for politics.
In other cases, politics become a driving force for creativity.

In any event, it becomes top priority for Hollywood whenever a Republican wins.

Meh, I was a kid when Bush was president, and I do remember a lot of Bush jokes and war on terror, government surveillance themes in fiction but...I don't know, it didn't seem to piss off half the country as much then. And when Obama was president, you didn't see politics shoved into media nearly as much.

Just seems with Trump as president, everyone got more fanatical and put things into overdrive. I'm just wondering if all that will finally die down if Biden wins and we go back to the more subtle stuff of yesteryear.

They did. I don't know if people here are being willfully ignorant or just don't pay attention, but there has been a clear dramatic change over the last decade. Politics were still a big deal before, but if people don't see how the average person is much more involved with politics now than then, then they aren't paying attention. Social media is likely the biggest driving factor though, so don't expect that to stop anytime soon.

What do you mean? I'm going by my personal experience, not the entirety of history, lol.

Politics in the 90's and early 2000s was pretty boring in contrast to our social media filled variant today where political thought is shoved into everything and everyone has a soapbox to rant. I also was a young teen during that time and had no real interest in politics, so that might have had something to do with it too.

Of course not, imo. The attention to politics has to with the sharp divide in the US on major issues in our day and Trump is just a symptom of that. Until the public is at least fairly united on most major issues, you'll be hearing plenty regardless of who's in office.
