It would make scheduling hell. Short/long weeks would require so much more planning and for the most part the vast majority of the viewership is working between 8:00 and 6:00 pm on a weekday.

There's a lot of people who never would have even seen the Chiefs/Bills game if it was on Sunday because some us are not in the area where they would air this game.

I mean this was a originally a Thursday night game so if it aired at it's original time it would have been local markets and NFL Network only.

Starting this week (Week 6) they're on Fox also.

In my area, Cowboys, Texans, Broncos, Cardinals take priority over every other team. I'm a Broncos fan, so I'm cool with that. I don't care about the Texans but I'm forced to watch them over any other good game.

If they saved 2 games for Monday, a mid afternoon game and evening game I think that could work. Then maybe one game on Tuesday or Wednesday in the mid afternoon. I wouldn't watch Texans on a Sunday because I'm not wasting my day off watching that, but on a Tuesday afternoon when the majority of people at work are at lunch that would be fun to catch a Texans game with my co-workers during our break.

Of course this would change Thursday night games. Maybe not get rid of them but don't count it as the start of the new week.

Plus, there's the NFL apps and other streaming services for those who don't take a lunch or whatever to catch the game sometime at work.

They want max viewership and 70,000+ people showing up (when there isn't a pandemic going on). Weekday afternoon games make zero sense in that regard.

Hell, basketball and hockey have 82 games a year and they barely do that, maybe one or twice a year on non-holidays for some teams.

Only reason baseball does it is due to the shear volume of games played coupled with the historical legacy of paying in the day (and they've moved away from this hard).

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.
