When you like someone enough you'll give them an exception to their scummy traits. Dude's vocally misogynistic, antisocial, dislikes foreign things, hates animals, genophobic, among a plethora of other things. Outside of a few of his own topics (which even in those he'll present them in a negative way and go on about how much he hates the things he enjoys) everything about him is negative and toxic. People give him a pass for his troubled background, his acknowledgment of his flaws, and being vocally against Trump and Republicans (which is a good thing but also clearly compensation for how conservative many of his own values are due to being influenced by his ultra conservative family) but despite his acknowledgment of his flaws he continues to do them.
