Considering he's only been downplaying covid19 the entire time even after he tested positive and was hospitalized. It's nothing short than 100% his fault for all the Americans who died under his incompetent leadership.

People love to blame President Trump, but lets be honest Hilary would have fucked it up just as bad. We can pin it on the president since hes the leader, but the Democrats would have fucked it up and are lucky they werent the leader at this time.

I only voted 75%-99% because even if it was handled perfectly, immediately, lives would have still been lost, that's unavoidable. Maybe if it was handled like other nations did, we would have only lost thousands, not hundreds of thousands.

15 - 24 percent and that's a gut feeling

I'm not a Trump guy by any means but we were going to lose people in this anyways. A lot of blame also goes on local governors like mine in PA who put covid patients in nursing homes causing more deaths.

i'd say about 50/50. if hillary was elected. she probably could've nipped it in the bud right when things got bad. then again china was hiding the big problem before it blew up.

If Trump admin ever took it seriously that would be fair. But from the start they went out of their way to downplay it at all costs despite knowing how dangerous it was.

It's 100% their fault.

Hillary would have:
  • Kept our pandemic response team in place instead of getting rid of them
  • Listened to advice from the CDC and healthcare experts on how to handle the spread instead of muzzling them and ignoring their advice
  • Not repeatedly downplayed the severity of the virus once she learned about it

Trump has somehow convinced millions of people in the US that:
  • Masks don't help anything
  • COVID-19 isn't real
  • It's less deadly than the flu
  • It's a hoax

So much so that we're seeing tons of stories of people crying about their rights being violated when they're either prevented from entering a store without a mask or get kicked out of a store for not wearing a mask. During a fucking pandemic.

Trump is also repeatedly having in-person rallies during a pandemic and is about to go back to doing that after he just had COVID-19. The White House is now a source of COVID-19 community spread and it's his own damn fault. Trump and his entire administration repeatedly refuse to follow rules in regard to wearing masks EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THEY'VE BEEN EXPOSED.

Trump is a fuck up in this regard and that much is undeniable.

About half. Trump really fucked things up, but the stupidity of the average American who wants to keep acting like things are normal is astonishing.

Though it could be argued that a large number of them may have taken things seriously had Trump been against coronavirus from the beginning instead of downplaying it and acting like it was a hoax targeting him.

I voted the 75% and up range.

The US is home to 4% of the world's population yet 24% of the world's Covid-19 deaths occurred here. This is very disproportionate to our population.

Using swine flu as a comparison, only 4% of the world's swine flu deaths occurred in the US so it was proportional to our population. There's also taking into consideration that the outbreak started in a neighboring country which was a direct disadvantage and this pandemic was over a decade ago meaning we have a decade of medical and technological progress since then.

I'm saying like 50% like that guy who caught it and passed it to his dad who then passed away. The guy went on his own knowing the risks and all that. This mentally is shared by a bunch of young people.

As for Trump followers they listened to him and died, those are his blame.

If Hillary Clinton enacted a mask mandate and encouraged everyone to follow the CDC guidelines, of course you would have people who would actively not listen to her (think of those stubborn republican types). We would still see covid deaths, but in this scenario, those covid-related deaths wouldnt be Hillarys fault. Thats the difference with Trump.

Hmm now this is tricky

Experts have stated (and it's verifiable when comparing to first world countries) that you need 95% mask compliance to get a handle on covid-19.

Even if we had a democrat president, house, and senate I doubt we'd be able to achieve this. We'd certainly see a higher compliance rate than we currently do now, but we also wouldn't have had such misinformation and denials that we have experienced under the current administration.

70-85%. Every country tried to pretend this would just be a china problem and took little to no precautions preemptively. So, the initial wave would likely be the same, but our inability to bring the numbers down is pinned largely on trump being more concerned with re-election and the econony looking strong. Not to mention politizing mask use (again, in the guise of looking strong).

The beautiful irony is, had trump responded correctly to covid, he'd probably win re-election and the republicans would keep the senate majority. now they look to be losing the president and the senate and paving the way for the democrats to undue all their work to stack the justices. Likewise, had the republicans taken their get out of jail free card and impeached trump, they could have set a path for re-taking the house. So, i can't feel any sympathy for a party who had a chance to stop outright racist behavior from a complete and total moron who couldn't even run a casino profitably.

then again china was hiding the big problem before it blew up.

china shutdown in January, during their biggest commercial holiday.

No country has an excuse for not being prepared in March.
