Joe found out how to weaken Bakemon, which even helped out way later. I think he did other stuff too I just don't remember. Medical stuff? Sora and Mimi managed to stay away from that chicken mon that turned everyone to stone. If they hadn't, it would have been game over. Tai provided morale or guidance. Izzy surely used his smarts to get them out of jams. I do not remember TK or Matt specifically providing anything, though I have a feeling I'm just forgetting.
