Which?

Money is tax free.

Ability is as follows. You can travel to any point in history and interview historical figures. A universal translator would be included and you can record the interview. The historical figures memory will be immediately wiped as to not cause any alterations in history. You will be invulnerable while time traveling but you can't interact with anything beyond interviews. You're allowed to profit from your videos.

Which do you take?

Ability, travel to the future, interview all their famous scientists, replicate it in the present, and bring humanity to the next step of existence. Then money will be irrelevant.

The ability sounds like something that would get you killed by groups that would want to hide certain information.

I'll take the money. Uncomplicated.

Nice.

I would also interview famous women and hook up with them as part of the interview.

Money.

I don't give a damn about history, I only care about the future, and if I can't go to the future and stay there/live there whats the point

I'll take the ability just because it'll make me plenty comfortable financially AND I can correct inaccurate historical accounts.

Religious figures, monarchs, warlords, inventors, genealogical Adam and Eve.

Traveling in the past would be cool but using that info to make a billion dollars would be a lot of hard work. Honestly, knowing the future is more valuable than knowing the past.

The money.

All the other thing does is allow me to know all the facts, in turn making me more irritated when Americans don't believe anything I say and continue to push false narratives and ignorance to further their personal beliefs/goals.

We just reached seen the harsh reality where having video evidence doesn't mean shit when you're going up against a groups beliefs and goals. Fuck all that wasted energy. Money speaks much louder than evidence

I'm not sure you're aware of how hypothetical situations work. If time travel exists in this scenario it's plausible that you can buy your own machine.

Power sounds pretty lame. Also the government would want to start investigating me if I posted time travel videos.

Money means I can quit my lame ass job that pays really fucking well.

Money it is!

Ability sounds complicated, no one might believe you that the interviews are real. They'd assume they are staged specially since cameras might not have been invented back then.

Worst case you piss some random descendant/government off for revealing the truth and they kill you, while the rest of the world thinks you are crazy and full of bs.

I guess it would be nice if you want to interview Jesus to find out exactly how his existence ended up being a religion.

Hmmmmmm, probably the money. Ability would be cool and you could definitely make a shit ton of money from it. But you'd never be able to stop even if you want to, and people would try to use me for political purposes.

A billion dollar is nice and simple, and will set me and all of my family up for generations.

Shakespeare (again, if he's real), etc etc etc.
what do you mean if?

there was, factually, a man from Stratford-on-Avon named William Shakespeare. I literally took a course on him that started with several weeks of biographical info. like, there are surviving documents indicating the property he owned.

there's more information about him than there is about... pretty much any non-royalty from the same time period

All of my English teachers from college, and a few from high school, talked about how he may have simply been a bunch of writers operating under one name, and the whole missing time period of his life. I do believe he existed without a doubt. Haven't seen anything convincing otherwise.
it was common practice for playwrights at the time to study under someone at the start of their career, and tutor someone else near the end. so shakespeare's first ~5 plays and last ~5 plays likely had another person working on them.

but he himself was an actual, singular person, not a pseudonym used by a collective. "belief" doesn't enter the equation unless you want to contest the accuracy of basically any surviving documents from the time period
