When my wife and I were trying we basically just did it as much as possible until she got pregnant. Since it never took more than a couple of months we never really worried about trying to time it exactly or anything.

How long did it take to get pregnant? Two were unplanned, but the third was calculated and made it seem like work.

It took my wife and I, two months for her to get pregnant.

Knowing her cycle helps out a lot and during the more fertile days we did it more.

My wife was on depot for like 5 years. She got off the shot and it took almost 3 years. She has some other issues which lead doctors to say she would never be able to conceive. Daughter is 3 in December so apparently doctors were just being bleak. If you know her ovulation cycle, fuck like bunnies during that week - we ramped it up during those times and according to when daughter was born, the week my wife got pregnant was during ovulation cycle. Everyone is different, wish you two the best of luck. Prepare yourself for lack of sleep - it's not so bad if you trade off nightly duties every other night.

Tried about 3 months during her "on" weeks, with no luck. Stopped for a few months and took some male fertility supplements during that time (no idea if they're any good). Tried again during an on week and she got pregnant.

My lady and I definitely wanted kids, but both were unplanned. There were two ill-timed "incidents" that led to two children. If we wanted a third, I imagine it would take about 20 minutes.

Same, my ex fiancee and I also accidentally got pregnant only for our daughter to be stillborn. After that though it was like something broke in both of us and it was just irrevocable. We were pretty youngish, but I do sometimes still wonder if that had happened more recently if we would have been able to handle it and actively try again instead.

We've been trying to get pregnant for years. Unfortunately it just hasn't been in the cards for us. Mostly due to my wife's thyroid issues.

She got pregnant two years ago but it was ectopic. That hurt but at least it shows that it's possible. We've been timing it as best as she can but she tends to skip a lot of cycles, so we surmise she only ovulates 2-3 times a year, making it much harder.

We've seen a fertility doctor, but they are busy and every appointment takes months to schedule.

Also its not surprising that for most it happens in a few months. I read something like 80% of couples get pregnant within 5 months. 1/8 will struggle with infertility which is when you havent conceived after a year of trying

Im so sorry you went through that. I cant imagine how it was for you. I think its common for couples to break apart after a tragic loss like that. I dont know if I would ever recover from something like that

Im sorry about the ectopic. My first positive after 2 years of trying ended up in a chemical pregnancy. I know what you mean about those wait times. I ended up switching to a smaller private clinic and their schedules are so much better. I also felt like I was getting more personal care than the huge fertility clinic I went to before.

towards the end of a month my wife & i decided to start trying, i figured that it would take like 6+ months and it would buy me more time as a child-free guy (lol). she gets her period that month. the next month we had sex three times and that was all it took, it felt like i was in a teen movie or something

Sorry to hear about y'all pregnancy issues. Getting to the point where you want to have a child can be a pretty big decision already and it sucks when you have troubles actually making it happen.

Yeah, the craziest thing about that time is that when she did get pregnant, it was unplanned as we were fostering three toddlers at the time looking to adopt. That would have made for 4 kids! Crazy as it sounds, though, we were kind of excited about that. Not only did the pregnancy end up being ectopic and so we lost the child, but a month later our adoption was not approved so the girls were moved to a new home. That was the darkest point in our lives.

We are still holding out hope, though. My wife is working on getting her levels regulated as her combination of PCOS and thyroid issues have made her cycles almost nonexistent.

Yep, we've noticed it. My wife and I just want to do an IUI and see if that works, but our fertility doctor wants to rule out other things first and it's taken forever. We've seen her doctor like 4 times in two years, and each time she orders a number of tests and procedures at various testing labs that take 2-3 months to complete. She wants to rule out complete infertility or other issues before we work on possible treatments. Which I get of course, why do an IUI if no ovulation is taking place or if she's not viable to carry a child? So far, though, it seems that she's fine other than some hormonal imbalances. We are currently having her on some thyroid medication for a few months to see if that can regulate her and try the natural way.

If by early spring we don't see any results, I'll definitely push for the IUI.

I think it took like 4 cycles for us. Shooting dust i guess idk

Also worth noting that if you really want to do things right, she may need a cycle or two off of birth control before trying in order to help her uterine lining or something (probably depends on the birth control method)

Also recommended she starts taking folic acid in advance of trying as well

So it can be a little while from 'i want to have a baby' depending on how by the book you are

But people also have plenty of healthy accident babies so idk
