yeah but it also feels like it's gonna be one of those games that's great for the first week and then slowly dies once the campers start ruining everything.

Yes, this game has camping because you can turn off your engine at will.

didn't get much time to play, but that was a good time. I have a flight stick and a throttle i might drag out the throttle. the control config makes it look like it should handle dual inputs okay. A lot of games requires some annoyances to get them to work together so i generally don't bother. that way all my buttons are right on the thumbs without needing to look down and figure out which one is button 9

So so so.

Not bad at all.

Unfortunately the game keeps telling me I need to bind more stuff on my flight stick, but won't tell me what I need to bind. >_>

Would be nice if someone could post a good binding set. I've got twelve buttons, a throttle slider, and a POV hat (is that what you call that?) on this thing.

So I guess if there's one thing I didn't like thus far, it was basically the need for a tutorial saying "you should bind these dumbo, because you'll need them".

Other than that, boy is this some hot stuff.

The sim aspect of it (managing energy, etc.) is toned down to a more simplistic level. You're either balanced on energy, or prioritizing lasers, engines, or shields, and switching between them is essential depending on situations.

I'll definitely need to bind the "dude attacking me" function.

The Hull Repair button, while kinda immersion breaking, is nice, especially for unshielded craft. Made TIEs feel less fragile, which is a good thing when you're an Imp but a bad thing when you're shooting TIEs and you're like wait why isn't this thing dying in two laser blasts.

Of course I'll have to make myself a dumb EA Account for Losers so I can play online.

I'm straight up garbage at this so far. Playing with an Xbox One controller, I waited too long to buy a flight stick and now they're sold out everywhere or incredibly expensive.

should be double tap the target button (button 5 on joystick by default). I don't like how they try to "help" by simplifying the targeting by having having you bring up that targeting menu. At the very least i wish i could change that radial menu so target all would be a straight down and target ship systems would be straight left. Going at the angle on the pov hat feels weird.

depending on how much insomnia kicks in i'll finish up the story tonight or tomorrow then give multi a chance. At $40 for just the story it will be a lit down at just 14 missions, but I knew going in the story wasn't the focus of the game. Though it would have been nice to get 8-12 missions for each side instead of the interwoven. But i'll just keep waiting for star citizens squadron 42

yeah so i'm not liking the fleet battle at all. 4 ships vs a capital ship = instadeath. Idk maybe they're something i'm missing. At least as rebels with shield you might get 2 passes at the cap ship thanks to shields before dying, but imps are super fucked and just die.
