No, the new Dune movie only covers around half of Dune rather than trying to do the whole book in one go.

But apparently the second movie/part hasn't been green lit yet so if this one does poorly there won't be a second.

There's like a 0% chance it does poorly financially if they release it after the pandemic or on VOD. They shouldn't release it in theaters December 18th though.

They already did that, SciFi Channel made a legit Dune two part mini series.

I love the Dune books, but the movie isn't going to be a huge hit, so I wouldn't be surprised if they never do the second one.
