Inspired by my weekly skimming over of Cracked's home page to see if they've published anything decent lately (they rarely do anymore)

I guess, but I mean the books are much shorter than the bible-length Harry Potter books. Like the lengths of the full series are comparatively similar.

I totally forgot about this series. I vaguely recall there being a t.v. series. Also read the books, but I don't recall how many of them. Honestly, aside from transforming, what was the plot about? Who or whom were the antagonist?

I think most of them were written by ghost writers too, which really saw the series go down in quality.

Amimorphs needs a massive reboot. I would love to see a series, video game franchise and even movies.

Could be really good, the lore was surprisingly deep with all the alien races, and then you get metaphysical with the conflict between the Crayak and the Ellimist. Plus the yeerks were a really creepy villain for a kids series, slowly mind controlling everyone on the planet...

Some of the plots in Animorphs wouldnt be kid friendly enough to get popular.

The plot with Taylor and the house fire was so god damn dark that it made me feel like shit as a 10 year old. Parents probably would have had a meltdown with the violent shit like that.

The One wouldn't have been introduced in the last few pages and there would have actually be a definitive ending.

There was, and it was low-budget AF.

Except no? That was super common? They were small books released monthly. Right alongside goosebumps in fact. Animorphs was written off at strictly for kids.

Actually just Googled it and apparently the entire Animorphs series is 1,449,150 words compared to 1,084,170 for the Harry Potter series. Which is a bit more lopsided than I would've guessed tbh.

I've maintained for years that Animorphs would make an awesome anime. Supposedly there's a movie being worked on, I hope it succeeds and breathes some new life into the franchise.

It would have been great if the last couple of books didn't all turn into bad fan-fiction thanks to ghost writers.

I'll never forgive the ending for being complete s*** either.

The Animorph book covers were absolute dog shit. I know don't judge a book by its cover and all but God damn as a kid that shit turned me the fuck off from reading them.
