The lady at Walgreens didn't know what it was. The doctor thinks my issue is esophageal/stomach inflammation, but it may be an ulcer in my intestines since i'm feeling gas activity in there. Anyone familiar with this stuff?

I have no idea what type of medication the pet store would be selling you, so I cannot say nor would I recommend taking it.

No, you need to be seeing a doctor and they should be prescribing it for you.

I went to the walk-in yesterday and she wrote down a few meds for me to buy since I told her I don't have prescription insurance. I don't have a PCP

And she didn't give you a script or a prescription? Did she send it electronically? I'd call back and ask.

Sorry to hear that. That's the unfortunate thing with our system right now. And I'm not really sure how pet medications work, I'd have no idea if they can guarantee the potency of the pet version of medications versus human medications.

But is there data proving it is more effective than the tablet? Last I saw in the literature, they're equally effective. Interesting. I have only seen the study in dogs wherein the suspension had a greater bioavailability. My day job tends to have me interacting with solutions containing aluminum and silica much like this one. There is a solubility window that I suspect the tablet misses. --- Polite fiction is still fictitious even when no one is offended. ... Copied to Clipboard!

As far as animals go, I can't say I know much of anything about how medications interact with them compared to us. I will say that bioavailability doesn't matter much for sucralfate though, as it's effects are expressed in the GI tract. It doesn't need to be absorbed in the body for it to work.
