I don't understand why some people have such a poor grasp or modern and ancient history, even for their own country (although admittedly some countries are too new to have ancient history). It's like folk don't value history, don't find history helpful, and don't find history entertaining to learn about. Crazy. I love finding out about various periods of history, especially Western twentieth century history. Some people seen to only know what happened from the year they were born onwards, and even then, you can tell their memory of events, people and trends is hazy at best.

Depression comes from living in the past, anxiety comes from living in the future, peace comes from living in the present.

Its mostly because they made learning history as boring as humanly possible. There are a lot of people interested in certain historical periods and characters but it is taught dry and to be memorized.
At this point I dont really care about any specific historical period I am more interested in pre-history and new discoveries which change the traditionally taught narrative --- Quit Crying ... Copied to Clipboard!
