"My Administration will not allow Federal tax dollars to fund cities that allow themselves to deteriorate into lawless zones," the memo said, accusing those cities of permitting "anarchy, violence, and destruction." The president has made attacks on major Democratic-run cities a central focus of his reelection campaign.

Cuomo waved off the idea of Mr. Trump cutting funds for New York City, pointing out that there are legal restrictions on what can be slashed."

Is the President right?

Federal subsidies for not-federal things need to cease existing, as a concept.

Go look at your income taxes from last year. It was probably 8% to state and 30% to federal. That should be the other way around, give or take tanks and nukes.

"From the point of view of New York City, this has been the worst president in history," Cuomo said in a conference callwith reporters. He said Mr. Trump "has been actively trying to kill New York City ever since he's been elected."

Pretty sure it was the governor & mayor who were trying to kill New York City.

You can save yourself some time by taking it as a given that the answer to this question is, "No."

out of curiosity, how do you figure those numbers? The 32% bracket starts at 84k for single people. That's well above the median, which is still in the 12% bracket.

And personally speaking, I live in a state without a state income tax.

perhaps if we could actually listen to the grievances and have a civil discourse without retaliation in order to come to an equitable solution this wouldn't happen

nah, easier to send in the troops to shoot, gas and detain people then make up stories about how things are going downhill

These 3 websites are good for seeing the funding issue from an honest standpoint: Politico, RollCall, and TheHill.
