When comparing 3 with 2 and all its dlc, which is better currently? I have 2 and some of the dlc already but never mastered the game. Was thinking of trying to learn it again but trying to decide if I should go back to 2 or get 3

It's tough to say which is better, CK3 is a narrower but deeper experience, it doesn't have as many parts as CK2 with all DLC, but all the parts that it does have are more in-depth, from religion to feudal contracts, to lifestlyes, and intrigue. CK3 is probably easier to learn then CK2 with all DLC though. Go have a look through the wikis and decide which seems more up your alley:

Its massively better than ck2 and ck2 was one of my favortie games of all time.

CK2 + all DLC + mods is a "deeper" experience right now but CK3 is undoubtedly more polished and better written. The problem here is familiarity. Having kept up with CK2 for seven years, buying all the DLC, and even expanding into mods will undoubtedly be a better play for you. But with enough time I can see CK3 + 2 or 3 expansions being a better game all in all.
