Karla Homolka is a particularly famous one since she pretended to play troubled housewife being forced into these terrible acts by her husband and the second she had managed a reduced sentence it came out that she was way more guilty than she was letting on and ended up pretty much getting a slap on the wrist, especially compared to her husband.
