Its like dude, you called an organisation with 50,000 employees. I dont know who barb in HR is, let alone her number.

Lady sounded like she eats half a pack of cigarettes for breakfast.

I get these often, particularly on my personal mobile.

Theres some plumber in freaking Queensland who gives my mobile number out as his own quite often.

Some people are nearly as emboldened over the phone to lash out at others as they are on the internet. It's really bizarre. Working call centers would be so much better if America wasn't filled with self-centered jackwagons who feel like they are justified being cruel to others just because they are minorly inconvenienced.

But alas...

Although I used to get some enjoyment by CCing in peoples bosses when they were abusive over email and wouldnt take this isnt something we are allowed to do, but your boss is your account authoriser and can fix it themselves in 2 minutes for an answer.

So many variations on thank you for your assistance, Ill take it from here.

I like when people are on the phone and apologize to the person on the other end, while they slow down and inconvenience both the employees and fellow customers.

I once worked in retail in a fairly affluent area. This Happened all the time.

Best was when a woman was going through checkout on the phone, talking loudly about her yeast infection. When I finally got her through the checkout, (not to mention she literally threw her card at me when she needed to pay)

I did my usual thank you very much, have a great day. + I hope you feel better soon. Gave her my winningest, most charming smile.

Theeeen she realised that just because everyone in the checkout cant hear who shes talking to, doesnt mean we cant hear her.

One of the highlights of that job, really.

I've had multiple people call me then get angry and demand I let them talk to the person whose number they insist it is.

Last week I had someone (a community nurse) walk into my house and she was very insistent that there was a patient she needed to see here and I was lying about someone called Tracey not living here. Eventually she gave up and checked her notes to see she had the wrong house number.
