I own a Civic Type R and I see quite a few regular Civics try to mimic it in my car groups. I don't care about the mods to make it look like the CTR from an aesthetic standpoint, and I'll even let the emblem difference slide. But swapping the trim badge is going too far in my opinion.

I had a convo like this a while back with some friends that discussed what or where the line is in what's considered upbadging. Actual badges and emblems of higher trims was an obvious yes, but it seemed a bit mixed when it came to trim pieces, like installing spoilers, bumpers, etc from higher performance based trims. Would that also be considered upbadging at that point?

Some folks really get in their feelings about it. Personally I don't care. I feel if a higher trim had parts and pieces you like, and for whatever reason it's not feasible to just get that trim, I don't see anything wrong with utilizing the parts.

I've seen some drive a suburban or tahoe and the rear door was from a Cadillac. I just figured they use the closest part they had from a junkyard. I didn't realize people did that shit on purpose. Lol
