And that was for best actress of all things ._.

I mean don't get me wrong, Fisher King isn't a bad movie. It's okay.

But look at Gilliam's track record: Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, 12 Monkeys.

They are all masterpieces. No hyperbole. Brazil is a candidate for one of the greatest movies ever made.

And while no where near that level, Time Bandits is a great underrated sci-fi classic too. And The Adventures of Baron Munchausen is also great. Way better than Fisher King.

It would be like if Johnny Depp won an Oscar for Sleepy Hollow but then nothing else in his career.

12 Monkeys is like twice the film Fisher King was

There's a scene where a hamster is running in a wheel in the background and it took like 14 takes because the Hamster kept stopping during filming.

Gilliam wanted the shot to the perfect.

There is nothing even close to that level of effort in Fisher King and it shows. It's okay but... It's just "Another Movie" it's just "Here's a paycheck for everyone. This'll distract the people from the knowledge that they are dying for a couple of hours."
