Thought I would try hinge and wow, compared to tinder any woman who is not overweight is like a unicorn on this app.

So it had me thinking, I guess for a normal typical dude, the most basic standard requirement for attraction is that the woman is not overwieght.

What is the most standard basic requirement that women place on men for them to be attractive?
I would assume the same except tbh I think women like big men and can forgive a dude who is a little fat if he has wide shoulders and is tall but I could be wrong.

Which is a weird way to ask, what is the male equivalent of below the standard measure of attraction to a woman?
What makes a dude to where a woman won't even scroll on his profile?

Not sure what you are trying to say. It is well understood that being overwieght as a woman is unattractive unless the dude has a weird kink.

I think you mean to say dudes who aren't getting any matches will start liking the overweight women so they can have a few matches?

Get out more. Guys who date women you'd sell your soul for hook up with overweight chicks all the time. Some even end up settling down with one over the slimmer girls. Not everyone is as shallow as you. It's internet brain.

Most people just have their own window for which ones are date-able. So they'll usually take a chubby girl, but not a 400 pounder. Most would probably not want to go for someone who looks unhealthily skinny either though.

Then there are people who only date big ones. Probably more of those out there than people who want their partners to look anorexic.

There's a huge difference between overweight and 400 pounds. You have a completely different lifestyle at 400 pounds.

The amount of stuff my skinny ass can enjoy that an overweight person can't is waaaay smaller than than the amount of stuff an overweight person can enjoy that an obese person can't.

Sorry if this hit anybody in a soft spot, but it just is what it is. Nobody is talking about a 400 pound person in this topic

Edit: Let me add that there are things that an overweight person can enjoy that my skinny ass can't as well. But once you get way up there, you lose every advantage to both of us.

A buddy of mine is very recently divorced at 34 and has no problem with women on tinder.

He wants to date age appropriate but I said if he wants to play the field he should focus on young women 18-25 because theyre less likely to want to settle down. Women over 26 always seem desperate to settle down and are jaded from bad relationships.

Tinder in my experience has more variety body type. Whales are rare on tinder.

This! The biggest problem I have with "overweight" and "obese" is that it really only accounts for their weight at their given height. A friend of mine was 148 pounds (she's losing weight now) and was considered borderline obese because she's short. She has a bit of a belly, but otherwise, she's petite looking.

But people hear obese and they think of someone 400+ pounds that can't even walk without being out of breath.

I think I was just trippin cause you adopted the word "whale" and I didn't see enough context yet to differentiate how most people use that word here. It's hard to not see that as just trying to throw shade when you're in a community like this one. Or pretty much any online community. But now I see you were just strictly using it as context to start a different conversation.

I guess even I used obese wrong later in that post too. I admit, I haven't studied the official terms. Tbf, I don't know the right terms for people underweight like me either. I usually just try to be specific when Im talking so people don't rely on terms Im using.

I intentionally went for the extreme end on that one. Thing is most people will tolerate it up until the point that it's too much for them, or it becomes a legitimate health concern in that case.
