he tweeted to his fans that at the DNC they took out "Under God" from the pledge when starting the convention. except anyone who was watching it live knows that isn't what happened. I remember. they said "under God" I heard it. I actually wondered if they WOULD remove it, and I wouldn't have cared if they had. but they didn't. But people who only listen to Trump and avoided the live coverage on CNN and trust Trump only, believe they took it out.

anyway the "under God" part wasn't even originally in the pledge when it was written. they added it in the 1950's to show how America was a nation of faith compared to the Soviets.

His most insane lie... is only partly false?
Our ruling: Partly false
Instances where "under God" were excluded from the Pledge of Allegiance took place during individual council meetings, not during recitations of the pledge during the convention's program or as a matter of policy. There are no guidelines that forbid use of the phrase. It is misleading to state the DNC "omitted" or "took the word GOD" out. Therefore, we rate this claim as PARTLY FALSE.

Imagine being socialized to pledge your allegiance to your nation and to a "God" that you don't believe in. Imagine if all students were subjected to this during all of primary school. Imagine that removing the reference to religion in a country with a "separation of church and state" is a point of contention.

I don't have to imagine because that's the USA.

Sounds more like the Middle-Eastern countries that Americans are so afraid of.
