Spoilers for VLR and ZTD

I'm still pissed that they did not incorporate "?" from the secret ending in VLR to explain the non-linear narrative in ZTD, as it stands it's just a messy way of presenting a story.
Having "?" be a 4th dimensional being who was looking at their dimension from outside the physical and time restricted realm to be able to handle all neccesary info to get them to the true end would have been the perfect ending but no, it plays that way just becausr and it fucking sucked.

So here's the deal that people were referring to earlier that works better on the original DS game.

All dialogue appears on the top screen. All third-person narration occurs on the bottom screen. The big twist in the True Ending happens when the bottom screen narration identifies itself as a character. That's a bit lost with the "Adventure"/"Novel" aspect of the Steam version, though. At the final puzzle, Junpei is seen at the top, and young Akane at the bottom.

Oh, also go back to any escape room in Novel Mode. The blue bar will no longer be blank.

Oh yeah and also the final puzzle in the DS version is a literal Sudoku.

One of my favorite details that probably got lost in the transition from DS to the remaster was the narration during Junpei's flashback in the first puzzle room. Keep in mind that the top screen was Junpei's perspective while the bottom screen was Akane's. The narration on the bottom screen is all in third person until it suddenly asks "Did I leave that open?" This is referring to the open window in Junpei's apartment, except it wasn't in quotation marks. That was 12 year-old Akane making note of the open window in Junpei's apartment so she could recreate the future she sees as accurately as possible. And the narration foreshadowed the Akane being Zero twist from the very beginning! It's little details like that which makes this game's story truly mindblowing.

Multiply that by 9 and you get 129450789. Almost looks like the number 1 through 9 in sequence. In reality, it's the true value of the bracelets of the nine players.
