i always feel a bit of existential dread when telling or being told to "do your research" on a topic. in the time of internet there is absolutely no source that is unequivocally true or truthful. even in the best of times a huge portion of what we "know" as individuals is taken on faith, ok?

Usually "do your research" is followed by "wake up people" and is usually expecting you to believe some crazy conspiracy they are pushing. I always assume do your research is watch crazy youtube videos and conspiracy posts on Reddit. Notice how they never supply links to this supposed research you are supposed to do.
