Half the people I see are only wearing them in stores or when they hang around people they don't know well

I don't wear my mask to walk my dog, I just stay very far away from other walkers. It's not terribly busy in my neighborhood.

I had a woman at work today make it well known multiple times to everyone who would listen that she's a registered nurse. As such, she's the top authority when saying masks are dangerous because everyone is breathing in their carbon dioxide so the solution is to not where a mask.

I mean, I tend to wear it when I walk to the corner store, and always wear it when I get out of the car to go into a store without fail. Sometimes I'll even wear it in my car just to save a step for when I get to the store.

You're not even exercising/running, so you don't have that excuse to use.

I'm going to say this. It's not a left vs. right issue. I work in an incredibly left-leaning workplace. I don't know one conservative there (I'm not one mind you). They wear their masks! Great!

These are also people who some wear it below their nose, take it off to sneeze or cough, hug people, don't socially distance, forget to put it back on when they leave their cubes, etc.

Guess what. It doesn't matter what they support politically. People are fucking dumb, can't follow directions, or are just aloof.

why does it matter? I don't even see another person on my walk 75% of the time, and when I do, they're either on the other side of the street or I pass to the other side. I go for rather short walks btw

This. Unless the GOP has picked up a ton of black and hispanic support recently, this is an American issue, not one confined to a certain political group. The 'muh rightz' people are only a tiny fraction of people who don't give a shit about the pandemic.

What your doing is being reactive. "Oh, I don't have to wear a mask unless I see someone approaching".

That's just Americans though. In Asia wearing a mask when sick is normal and people do it even when covid isn't happening, and people don't touch each other publically as much, Americans just culturally are obnoxious.

Unless you live somewhere with packed sidewalks where social distancing isn't possible, you probably don't need one just to walk outside.

Why don't you wear a mask now? Why wait for Biden? And if you wear a mask in the parking lot, why don't you also wear it whenever you're outside in general? What makes a parking lot different from a sidewalk if both are empty?

A parking lot generally has people coming and going (although I still social distance as much as reasonably possible), and I don't see why I shouldn't wear one if I'm gonna be wearing one when I get into the store anyway. I know they say "6ft" but I like to stray as far away from others as I can.
