Got about 3 episodes in before I had any real grasp on what was going on. Now my next episode is episode 14 and I'm confused again but I can't really articulate what's confusing about it.

I'm definitely enjoying it, the atmosphere is great and the parts of it that get through to me are very good.

But I really don't get what a proxy is.

I really enjoyed EP, it's a bit self important but it's a fun story.

It's definitely a cryptic and esoteric series

I never got far enough in to say. I liked the art style, but a lot of what I rememeber of it felt like a soulless, darker version of GitS.

I'll finish it now I'm this far. The reason I started was because I heard of some comparisons to Philip K. Dick. Didn't get far but then I watched the second Ghost in the Shell movie and thought it could be a good follow up before trying the actual Ghost in the Shell shows and ova.

Maybe it's just not very good

I remember liking it when I watched it as a teen. I was definitely confused at times, but I'm pretty sure I watched it while high on opioids, so not sure what to ascribe it to.

There are a lot of aspects of it that you are supposed to be confused about, iirc.

I still haven't seen the OVAs myself, but Stand Alone Complex is really good, especially the first season.

I've been having a lot of partial seizures lately and they result in a lot of confusion and mess with my memory, so that probably isn't helping. Also taking a prescribed opiod for sinus issues. So yeah, very fuzzy head all the time.

It doesn't fully explain itself before the end, so it's normal to be confused.

And yeah Stand Alone Complex is the best cyberpunk anime and possibly media ever.
