Are the drinks overly convoluted I don't want to go to a tea shop and it's like coffee and you have to know your anthropology or you look like an idiot.

no, boba is completely subjective. you just order what sounds good to you, or if you feel bold, get something that sounds nuts, ok?

Boba has its uses however people are like molecular gastronomy is the new food. I mean there is a flavored air which are basically nebulizers. It just hype like dippin dots got popular.

Yes and dippen dots have been around thirty. Algae pearls have been around awhile and bring hey are even doing water bottles
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edible_water_bottle

But its more fad or niche. Like who buys a rain cake for its flavor? I doubt they will go out of business but it will get outshadowed by the next trend be it 3d printed meta foods or maybe spun sugar straws to eliminate plastic. So many possibilities but I gotta admit pink grapefruit boba on top or lemon sorbet is awesome!

I guess old reliable strawberry, but it's more accurate to say I like lots of variety. When I order bubble tea I cycle through the menu trying different things.

Normal Boba is just tapioca starch, I never really thought of it as anything special. It's something interesting to chew on in the milk tea.

I was drinking tea with milk long before bubble tea took off though.

I tried dippin dots to great disappointment. It's just inferior to normal ice cream.

It's like that "rolled" ice cream that was trending for a while.

The point of ice cream is air is beaten into the mixture as it freezes, so it's softer. Why is taking that process out suddenly popular.

Novelty. They make some ice cream in arabic areas that is chewy and quite pleasent to eat because I think it was mallow and milk cant remember its been a while. Also it stays semi solid at a marginally higher temperature. Then they got booza. I would honestly prefer including different countries food rather than some guy in a chem lab saying lets reinvent soup into an agar steak.

With boobly tea I am suprised I haven seen a chuymo version looks like the sour type would do a good acid for people who like lemon
