Or well under 1%. Both days set NY's record for tests in a day, and their daily totals were still around 700 infections. Also NY is now at 72,726 active cases, they'll probably be under 70,000 by the weekend. Just the other day they were over 80,000. So even with the high number of tests, the cases continue to fall.

I thought more tests meant more positives?

Another 85,455 tests yesterday with just 727 positive.
That's a three day total of 261,131 tests and just 2,164 positive.

For comparison sake, Texas yesterday did about 47,000 tests and had 6,750 positives.

How is a state the size of Texas going through the heart of the pandemic doing half the tests New York is doing with a positive rate much higher?

The virus is very real, and is hitting some people much harder than others (I know a few nurses and doctors who have seen people hooked up to ventilators first hand).

I am by no means saying we shouldn't take it seriously. But I thought it was no secret at all that the media was portraying it as much deadlier and much more rampant than it actually is this whole time. >.>

Less infected means less cases.

The media has never been playing it up as deadlier then it really is.
