Hes almost three.

Hes very bright, has excellent vocabulary and sentence formation skills for his age.

He just wont potty train though.

Icing on the cake was he was sitting on the potty after dinner, downright refusing to do a crap. We stop watching him for literally 10 seconds and in that time he takes a plastic bb off the floor and sticks it up his ass.

Thankfully, he was like uh oh, its gone and we managed to extract it fairly easily, thank god.

Then he had a hissy fit because the plastic hadnt turned brown.

As soon as he gets his nappy on, he drops a huge steaming turd a second later.

If theres no improvement in a few weeks hes going to the pediatrician.

We didn't fight it. We just realized that all kids are different. Eventually she realized that she didn't like shitting and pissing herself, and started using the toilet.

My daughter picked it up right away, but our son refused to poop in a toilet for along time. He was in kindergarten before his pediatrician took drastic measures, thing was he wasn't pooping his pants or anything he would just hold it in until it started seeping out. Eventually he got put on suppositories to prevent him from holding it in, he hated that and started going in the toilet on the regular.

Some quick googling seems to suggest that if you start potty training earlier it usually takes a little longer.
