It's been almost 4 days since we had our big windstorm in CT and this is the current power outage map. Thank god I learned the last big outage (10 days) and had a generator installed. Eversource (the power company) is utter shit.

I feel like an area with history of this and bigger threats of it due to environmental issues should have their power companies equipped with back up resources so its not up to the customer or home owners.

It happens every year. Our infrastructure is in horrible condition, and the power company refuses to do anything but provide break/fix after the fact.

It got so bad that they had to rebrand a few years ago because they provided such abysmal service.

United Illuminated is only marginally better. At least our politicians can agree to be angry about it, not that theyll actually do much.
Really though, they knew this was coming for days and its clear they didnt prepare and they cant even be bothered to communicate to their customers. Just gross incompetence and/or negligence.

Wow that sucks. My city may not have a football team anymore, but at least we have fairly reliable power.

This is nuts to me. I'm easily less than an hour north of CT and we had nothing up here in my area... just minor wind and rain and 2 tornado warnings that didn't actually do anything. Weather is a weird motherfucker

I'm in CT and I didn't even know the outages were so bad until last night. Apparently over 500,000 people have had outages. All Praises be to Allah that we haven't faced any yet

Lucky I didn't lose power. But most of my bother and sisters did and staying with me. Feel like I'm a kid again :P

when Matthew hit our corner of Georgia the local Georgia power spokesman basically said that the more populated areas (read the more well to do parts) get first dibs everybody else gets to wait (meanwhile several co-ops in the area got their customers power up 2-3 days before us lol)

200 gal above ground tank lasts us a long while running most things aside from stove/ac/ect..

We are due for a fillup in the next day or two tho.
