I was taught rinse, soap, wash but watching other people wash they hands, some people just go straight for the soap

in my head, the water helps activate the soap
e: so i go rinse first so the water is there...to activate the soap...if that wasn't clear

For me:

Rinse with hot water first, soap hands thoroughly all the way past the wrists, then finally rinse with even hotter water.
