I played this game obsessively in the mid 90s.

https://dosgames.com/game/insanity/

It just fascinated me. It was so weird. I had to see all of it.

Has anyone in this topic played it?

Took surprisingly long for this post to show up.

It's wrong though, I went to a programming camp and made a super shitty game that nobody but me has ever played.

I owned it. Gamefan magazine made a huge deal about it and I fell into the hype. Unfortunately, hunting mammoths isn't actually very fun.

My game is Megaman X: Command Mission. The mmx rpg no one asked for but had a surprisingly solid battle system.

Also, Everquest for the PS2. Hodstock server 4ever.

Megaman X Command Mission was quite fun. Sucks you had to use a GBA link cable to 100% the GameCube version though.

I didn't have it specifically but I had a shareware thing "The Wizard Compedium" which was basically a collection of 5 games, one of which was a smaller version of Insanity called A-Maze.
The other games on it were:
  • A football (soccer) team manager simulator
  • A "mastermind" style guess the card suits from the "you have # right and # correct but in the wrong place" clues
  • A weird game called "millionaire" where you started with $1,000 and had to try to turn it into $1,000,000 before you died or went bankrupt (the secret to winning was to spend most of your money on gifts, which increases your karma, causing your investments to pay off much faster' this was lampshaded by the message you get when you win, "The moral is: give to receive!")
  • A stock market simulator game with no particular goal, which was kind of easy because generally 95% of the time all the stocks would be going up or all the stocks would be going down together

I've looked for it several times on sites like Internet Archive but have never found it. If I could ever get a keyboard for my old Tandy and some way to transfer files to a format compatible with modern computers I'd upload it.

---

Also, The Maw for Xbox 360. I remember getting a free download code for it from an old McDonald's Monopoly or some similar contest. I suppose a lot of other people probably played it too for that reason but I never hear anyone mention it or seem to remember its existence.

The Deadliest Warrior
Played this briefly. It was a fun concept, but matches were always over so quickly that it got stale rather fast.

I do remember the matches being pretty short. The thing that I remember most was how OP the pirate was. I think all characters had ranged attacks (spears, axes, etc) but they gave the pirate the god damn blunderbuss. One hit from that took like 40% of your health lol
