Why would you throw a party during the pandemic in the first place

it was planned months in advance and there werent too many people there anyway, besides no one had covid and I had already attended a big party this summer so why not?

furthermore I knew I didn't have covid before the party for sure and I knew for a fact that a bunch of people there didn't have covid either

also being an essential worker and having to put my life on the line every fucking day over lunch meat but not being able to do anything else to rest from it was really starting to take an emotional toll on me

I was actually actively suicidal for a min and spent 12 days in the hospital over it, among other things.
