I got and played the shit outta Red. Saw a bunch of the first season of the show, played some of the CCG around 2nd/3rd edition. Bitta Snap. Not a single thing since then.

This, honestly. I still would like some more Pokemon merch though (what I have is mostly limited to a few plushies).

I'll still touch the main games when I want to play competitive occasionally, but qualitatively I feel the games have gone off the deep end. I only properly enjoy the side series lately as a result, and PMD is the cream of the crop in that respect.

I also don't bother with the anime. It's basically Saturday morning cartoon levels of writing and the amount of filler is insane. Fuck all of that, it's horrid.

The last time I played a Pokemon game was 2013. I would play Sapphire during my lunch period as a HS senior lol

I played the mainline games until Diamond and then only played remakes until SwSh.

Haven't watched the anime since I was a kid (stopped around gen 3). I watched an episode of the newest season, but it's just not my thing.

Used to play the card game as a kid (also quit around gen 3), but have actually gotten back into it.

I buy cute plushes and other merchandise.

Main games and Mystery Dungeon, but that's it. Haven't done anything else in the franchise in over a decade.

Watched a bit of the anime and a couple films years ago

I originally got Red through Nintendo Power. Loved the anime and wound up collecting the cards. A friend gave me his copy of Blue. I continued buying the games, usually just one per gen, but some were skipped. I fell off with the anime during D&P when Dawn was introduced and was watching sporadically. I've caught a few episodes here and there from B&W, X&Y, and S&M. Didn't care for the change in animation with Sun & Moon.

Some time in 2004 I sold all of my holofoil cards and corresponding evolutions to a kid I knew as I was finding the cards to be a waste of money. A few years ago I sold all the remaining rare cards to someone I knew from the US, and this past week I sold the last of my cards to a local woman who is giving them to her grandson as a birthday gift.

As for the games I currently own:

Red, Blue, Gold, Crystal, Stadium 1 & 2, Sapphire, Diamond, Soul Silver, White, X, Sun, and some freebies on my 3DS like Rumble World, Badge Arcade, and Picross that auto downloaded. At the moment I have dropped off after X. I received Sun for Christmas 2 years ago but have yet to play it. At this rate it is unlikely I will buy another Pokemon game for quite a while.

I first heard of Pokemon in middle school during the mid 90s.

There was a small group of nerds who would spend their lunch and recess inside playing it on their Gameboys. They got made fun of quite a bit for that plus numerous other reasons.

My thoughts on Pokemon and the people who play it hasn't really changed much since.

I'm joking about the last part.

Gen-twoer, I guess.

Tried to play Y, got annoyed by the incessant cutscenes. Tried again with a curbstompy Mew, still annoyed.

The only game I bought since gen three was LGP, which was surprisingly fun. I was wanting to try S&S, but it kind of looks bad. I might give it a shot when the final DLC drops, especially if they do a cheap game+DLC package.

I used to play the main games, but after Gen 6 I kinda stopped caring about the series tbh

Stopped after Gen 2. Just grew out of it. I was 10 when Silver/Gold came out and by the time the Gen 3 games came out I was 12 and was into different things and thought Pokemon was silly kid stuff. I still play through one of the Gen 1 or 2 games every couple of years or so. Never really could get into any of the newer games.

Gen 2,3, and 6 was the peak of my interest.

Gen 3 is my absolute favorite. It had everything.

Gen 7/ Moon is the only Pokemon game I've dropped.

Pokemon Go is gaming biggest wasted potential

I had a strong feeling that Gen 8 was not going to match up to previous titles/ current gen games, and I was right.

Currently not interested in anything Pokemon unless it made by not-Gamefreak

I cried about having a hard mode for awhile and then I played SMT and moved on with my life. Ill still buy and play the main series out of I guess tradition, but I almost always stop at the E4 and stop playing.

My strategy was always to wait for the third game.

Then Nintendo stopped doing third games so I stopped buying.

Tried to play through Platinum again during the pandemic and just couldn't force myself through it. It's slow and boring. I think I'm too old for Pokemon now because I remember loving this game when I was little.

i fell off after gen 3 because i never bought a DS when it came out....came back later for the gold/silver remake but couldnt really get back into it as it felt like the new stuff they added went over my head and I couldn't keep up with it after coming back

Did almost everything gen 1 (minus the social aspect like trading/battling/events) including the anime then just said "screw this" when gen 2 came out.

Only bother with main games, and even then nowhere near as much as I used to as the franchise's quality went straight down the toilet with Black/White and has not recovered since. Especially not when Sword/Shield decided to outsuck Black/White.....

Gen 2 had a mini Gen 1 right inside it. It was great.

I can't remember if I ever played the GBA games. Gave away my DS one.

I've played a few of the games, not the newest ones though and I used to watch the anime!

Love gens 1-3, gens 4-5 are alright (though I consider Platinum the last true mainline game), series has basically been dead to me gens 6-onward.

Havent played a lot of the spinoffs but I played a lot of Stadium 1 + 2 & Colosseum in elementary school; I liked collecting Pokmon cards occasionally but but didnt get into it as much as Yu-Gi-Oh outside from like a year or so in middle school. Watched the anime for the original series when they started showing it on CN but nothing beyond that.
