I would also recommend looking up Transgender and Gender Dysphoria, which is a real concept, for peer-reviewed research on this topic.

One thing to point out is that the DSM no longer calls it gender disorder, and that gender dysphoria is relatively newly recognized but not newly experienced.

It is for people who are racist and think everyone should be the same way. Psychiatry is baloney when used that way. They are people who are that way or want to be that way or just are. It's not other people's responsibility to change them. It's more the patients right to decide if they want help to deal with other things if they so choose as far as their mental health or whatever. Like if someone is transgender but depressed. Being transgender isn't a disorder. They might have other things they are dealing with just for their own health and well being.

People saying im "wrong" is just a social construct.

So that seems like it was less about it not being a "mental disorder" and more moving towards helping it be less stigmatized, which is good.

The wiki link kind of implied that it could be genetic, which I guess is it's own classification because genetic can have physical and/or psychological effects on a person.
