I fail to see how the death penalty for dangerous criminal is wrong

Setting aside the morality of killing a dangerous criminal in general, having one egomaniacal person be the one deciding who lives and who dies is an issue.

anyway I already oppose the death penalty, in real life even. of course I would not like Light doing it

I was with him right up until he started killing innocent people, but I only fully sided against him when he planned on killing unproductive people.

But otherwise, no, yeah. That clear display of supernatural power would freak people the fuck out enough that we'd see some quick changes.

Plus you know, Light doesn't follow any sort of due process, he thinks your guilty, and he kills you. He kills innocent people or people with relatively minor crimes just to prove a point, plus the FBI agents and Penbar's fiance.
