Zikten 07/14/20 5:47:21 PM #1:	One detail about the Tolkien stories is that it is supposed to be implied that Middle Earth is our planet, but like in a lost historic age that mankind has forgotten. the idea is that the events of Hobbit and Lord of the Rings actually happened here on Earth like 50 thousand years ago or something. I think Tolkien pretended that he "found" the stories in an old crypt written by an actual Hobbit. what would you do if they proved this was true, and that there might still be Dwarves hiding somewhere in mountains for example? would you go looking for creatures from the books? <cite>Zikten posted [p:942111094] in how would ... They're just good at hiding when us big people come around. Tolkien making a supposed real life history is part of why I love his work so much.
