People say it contains one of if not the hardest part in the game, the water room with the monks ganging up on you. It took a few deaths but I basically just had to split them apart.

Pretty much. There's a couple of problem areas ahead, but none are as long as the water room.

You'll also be in the possession of more upgraded weapons.

It doesn't matter that he'll have upgraded weapons because the challenges of games are made to account for the new items and tools they give you...unless he can figure out something to do with the weapons that the developers didn't think of...ha.

No, not really. Certain exclusive upgrades are actually game breaking and trivialize much of the last third of the game.

The thermal scope is for one enemy otherwise not sure what youre on about.

You do not ever need to reload again after getting the Striker exclusive.

You have an effective magnum in the BAR with its exclusive without the ammo issues in versions after the PS2 version.

The SAR's exclusive is only slightly less broken than the PS2 BAR.

The boosts to the Red9 and Blacktail exclusives in the PS2 version and beyond were not compensated by increases to enemy hp ranges, and typically take off one or two shots required compared to the Gamecube version. Which means more kills per reload, substantially reducing vulnerability time when most enemies are slow as hell.
