What they need to do in regards to evolution is stop adding evolutionary methods based on features unique to a generation, so they don't have to figure out some stupid proprietary janky workaround for literally every generation moving forward

Imo trade evos are the least of the bad decisions Game Freak makes, especially regarding evolutionary methods

Trading has always been a part of Pokemon, you need to accept this.

If they removed the need to trade, no one would trade and wed all have our own isolated experiences with the games.

Can't you just outright catch most of them in the most recent games? Though the Wonder Trade system makes it super easy anyway.

This may have been a valid thing to argue back in the OG RBY days if you didn't have a friend with a Pokemon game or didn't have a second gameboy/game, and/or a link cable

Now you are just being lazy. It is so easy now to just find someone online to trade with.
