Yeah.

That's one thing I liked with Wolfenstein.

All the guns all the time, and dual-wield sniper rifles if you want who gives a fuck just kill you some Nazis

In all seriousness though you need to play it on hard if you have ever played an FPS before.

This video from back when it came out explains why. The gameplay is simplistic and you really don't need to use the skyhooks or even your abilities on normal difficulty. People that play it on normal or even easy and run around gunning everything down without effort usually end up feeling like the game is way too simplistic.
