especially as a cap off to the Iron Man trilogy. The character arc Tony goes through in the movie as a stand-alone was great, as well as looking at it as a trilogy, and also on his greater arc through the MCU as a whole. And it did the whole I am Iron Man bookends way before Endgame

i remember it being a fun popcorn flick, but the first Iron Man is thr only one of the triology I've watched more than once.

I may have missed something but it seems like this movies story was just ignored after it came out. Correct me if I'm wrong since I might of missed the mentions.

Tony was giving up iron man. Atleast that's implied and next time we see him there is no mention about it that I remember. Pepper has powers which is never seen again. Tony gets his shrapnel out that's previously inoperable but still has an arc reactor in his chest.

Tony does blow up all his suits, yes, and decides to operate as Tony Stark the futurist rather than Iron Man the superhero. In Avengers Ultron hes kind of back in action without much explanation, but Civil War does a good job at showing him trying to make a difference outside of the suit

At the end of the movie Tony mentions he fixed up Pepper offscreen, which was kind of lazy tbh and also it wouldve been cool to see her with super strength and heat powers and whatnot

He also gets surgery to remove the shrapnel at the end of 3. I cant remember if he had an arc reactor in his chest still or just integrated into his suit for Ultron and Civil War. His chest arc reactor in Infinity War actually WAS his suit, so that was on purpose, at least

Well all those suits he made in 3 were made out of paper mache so I hope he would destroy them. He walked around alot without the suit already so I dont see much of a change. I still think it's pretty much a dropped plot point.

all his suits had independent power sources between IM3 and infinity war(no glowing chest whenever he's shown putting on or getting off the suit). in IW his suit was in his removable arc reactor chest piece.

what i find funny is how insignificant they made pepper going forward yet still kept her around up till endgame. like their breakup and subsequent reconciliation + engagement are more or less "blink and you'll miss it" moments from two different movies xd.
