11 years ago, i was playing Left 4 Dead with some CEmen, and one asshole decided to spam this song over the mic while team killing us

at first i hated it. wtf is this gee gee gee gee shit then i was interested. i asked him for the name of the song "Gee by SNSD". huh? that doesn't sound korean. but it was. and i was introduced with the 9 girls that would change my life.

i dived deep into kpop. i watched music video after music video after music video. watched interviews, discovered more groups. Kara, Wonder Girls, After School, Brown Eyed Girls, Lee Hyori. i was a fan of all of them. i was obsessed with them all. i knew i needed more

then one day my dad talked to me "you know i always thought it would be great if you did study abroad. oh well"
"yeah i guess", i thought. "but where would i want to go---- OH SHIT"

so i raced to my school's study abroad site and sure enough, there was a south korean option. i applied, i asked for letters of rec, i got the money required, and in 2010 i was living in korea living the kpop dream.

i went back to america in 2011, and i discovered there were more like me. i made friends who loved kpop and together we would go to concerts in los angeles, in the bay area, all over. i forged friendships that would last a lifetime because of our love for kpop. these friends would eventually introduce me to people who would introduce me to the love of my life, my fiancee. we're to be wed next year. she thinks kpop is weird but she likes korean dramas and korean food. we've been to korea and we're going there on our honeymoon again.

i think back on my life and i think of those big watershed moments. July 8th, 2009. thats the biggest one.

I went to search g-idle and noticed I had pop/stars in my music library already, I love that song lol
btw I play a lot of DJMax and theres a few kpop songs there
I really like Clazziquai Project (not sure if they count as kpop)
