i grew corn in that patch 2 seasons in a row and this year it was obvious it needed some more nutrients. so i pulled out all the corn (after harvesting) and used my lawn mower to run over the leaves to break them up
then i dug up all the soil, mixed in some grass mulch and the corn mulch i just made, and added some blood meal and bone meal. then i went to my black soldier fly farm and got a ton of their dropping, and other things that were still composting down (well, rotting). and dug 3 trenches about 6 inches down and buried all the rotting, organic material. covered it with some more grass mulch and then topped it off with some cardboard. i figure in about a month, itll be ready for planting again. i plan to grow some napa cabbage there, so i need lots and lots of organic material in that soil . --- For the mixed race babies! ...
