But the thing is, that's exactly what I felt like the author was doing with the novel itself. I didn't sit there an think about how this and that didn't add up, or the female representation wasn't what I wanted it to be, or any of that. I picked a book up, started to read it, and was entertained enough to keep reading it until I was done.
