  • Skylanders and Disney Infinity figures
  • All of the Barbie, Bratz, Petz, and Disney games
  • Game shows, tv shows, and board games turned into video games
  • Plug and Play games
  • "Arcade classics" and other collections
  • Third party implements, controllers, etc.
And let's not forget the absolute worst offender:
  • Sports games. Year after year of 2K and EA vomiting out recycled code with numbers changed to reflect current year statistics, only to be shelved for eternity when the next iteration is released.


All of the materials, man hours, and money poured into the bargain bin genre of video games that will last maybe two months in a home before they're never used again.

Part of me is grateful that digital distribution of games is ready to overtake physical games if not for this reason.

EDIT: Amiibo gets a pass because the figures are still somewhat relevant and they're quality models that make decent decoration in a game room.
