That's one of the reasons why they haven't unloaded a shitload of games on Switch, because one of their biggest flops is still churning out money on the retro side. But having them on a streaming service works better than the VC, but I have no idea what the plan is once Wii U is taken offline. Returns Wii and 3D sold a combined 6 or 7 million copies Tropical Freeze on a failing Wii U sold 1 million, and the port on the Switch sold 1 million after three months of release (the last official sales figure we had of it). Definitely not a sales issue, Donkey Kong Country has always been an elite IP for Nintendo. Issue is Donkey Kong doesn't have a dedicated studios since Rare left.
