Still unmatched and the best cinematic work of art ever as well as the best OST ever.

Agreed tbh

Really fucking glad they used so many practical effects and very little CG. They've aged really well. The Hobbit trilogy, while it has its own problems with storyline, is already starting to look bad and it's not even ten years old.

I still remember coming home as a kid from watching the Fellowship. And Ive rewatched some of them in the last year or so when they were on Netflix. Basically, yeah, they look absolutely incredible still.

I still remember going to see Fellowship with my family on christmas morning. that was a cool day. I remember also chuckling at the end when a guy in the audience didn't know it was a trilogy and complained at the ending

I think they will eventually remake the whole thing. my guess is decades from now. or maybe sooner than we think. probably within the next 30 to 40 years there will be another project. this time they will start at Hobbit. and when they get to Lord of the Rings, each novel will be it's own trilogy. there is enough material to do it. and now that The Hobbit trilogy showed it can be done with the shortest book in the saga, there is no way they won't do it with the LOTR books. did you know that originally it was all supposed to be just one movie called Lord of the Rings? Peter Jackson had to plead with the studio to turn it into a trilogy. they didn't understand.

The Hobbit looked bad at the time of its release. I still can't believe that the same crew made both the greatest and worst movie trilogies of all time.

Closest trilogy to perfection honestly. The CGI still holds up and the war scenes have yet to be topped.

Agreed. I have a special love for Tolkien and Middle-Earth, so I am obviously biased. But I have never come across another cinematic fantasy trilogy or show that has come close to the scale of The Lord of the Rings. And I honestly don't expect I ever will.

Peter Jackson really reached the peak and set the bar in regards to love and fan service being put into a movie/show.

Hollywood isn't gonna ruin lord of the rings. EA already is. They retconned shelob to be a sexy shapeshifting pornstar.

I haven't watched them since they were released in cinemas. Absolutely zero desire to revisit them. I like my fantasy less epic and a hell of a lot stranger and more dreamlike
