im telling you CE. you won't regret it! doesnt have to be everything! just one thing! I PROMISE

i usually make a korean dish called oi muchim, which is kind of a spicy pickled cucumber side dish.

i had some cucumbers i bought from the store, and i harvested 3 cucumbers from my garden.
the cucumbers from the store literally had no flavor. it was like eating wet paper. nothing. it was horrible.
took a bite of my fresh cucumber and i was in heaven. sweet, delicious, wonderful. fresh makes a difference!!!

i threw that store bought cucumber back in the fridge and i made the oi muchim with the FRESH cucumbers STRAIGHT FROM THE GARDEN, LITERALLY LIKE 10 MINUTES AGO, and the dish i made was

P E R F E C T I O N

CE. IM TELLING YOU. GROW YOUR FOOD. DO IT
DO IT NOW

"oh but ill buy it at the farmers market"
did those farmers literally pick those cucumbers 20 mintues ago? NO. THEY PICKED THEM LIKE DAYS AGO AND HAVE BEEN SITTING ON A HOT TABLE FOR HOURS. DISGUSTING.

GROW YOUR FOOD

Eh I grew my own vegetables for a year. They really didn't taste that much different from store bought shit. It was then I realized people who make a big deal about this shit are just under some weird placebo effect getting high on their own smugness.

TC is a complete troll account, he does this in all his threads. I garden, and legitimately tried to discuss things with him and then he blocked me. He doesn't know shit about gardening or growing vegetables. His other gimmick is complete Trump outrage.

I want to buy one of those small fishtank garden things where the garden cleans and filters the fish tank and uses all the poop and stuff from the fish to fertilize the garden. But my place has almost no insulation so during winter, my place is almost as cold inside as it is outside. There's been a few times where my thermometer says a temp inside and google tells me my city overall temp is HIGHER than my place during winter.

So with it getting so cold, I'm afraid that the fishies and plants would die. But we'll see, I might still go for it and just have my heaters on 24/7. It'll be expensive but I still wanna do it.
as long as you do it right, that could be EXCELLENT.

most aquarium set ups should have a water heater to keep the water around 75-80 degrees, as most fish need that temp to live long happy lives. yes, even your betta and goldfish.

growing food might be difficult, as most plants aren't just sitting in water (maybe rice?) but lots of people grow pothos out of their filters, since their roots can be submerged in water.

I have an aquaponic system and i've run it for years, if you need help I can definitely give you tips. If you have an aquarium heater, it will maintain a balanced water temperature, and in turn, will keep the roots of the plant at a warmer, consistent temperature. I have a 10 gallon Springworks Microfarm, and a 29 gallon custom system. Both with clay media, one I use for herbs like basil and rosemary, the other for small vegetable plants like cherry tomatoes and some peppers.

It's a lot of fun honestly, and easy to maintain once you learn the balance and how everything works. I'm legit happy to help if you decide to go this route.

did you let them get big and yellow? if they're too big, the seeds fully develop and it can get bitter.

gotta pick them young
