Is it there job to police the guest list?

It's not like she personally invited Epstein to the party, unless there is evidence otherwise. I'm sure that Epstein was there trying to set stuff up for some people but not every single last person at the party, that's just unrealistic.

The guy took a plea deal back in 2005. Of course anyone that's anyone knew who he was.

You ever been to a party before? Everyone know each other there? I've been to parties where I didn't know a single person besides the one friend who invited me. Now, I'm not saying Pao doesn't know him or does, and what she said was pretty fucking tone deaf. Obviously a lot of people knew of him, but does that mean they utilized his services? Did Ellen host the party?

I think it makes a sad amount of sense.

You've got the people in power who take advantage of their position for evil or selfish needs
You've got the (potentially numerous) people who rely on those people who will do absolutely anything to keep them in power
Then their peers who don't agree with it but know about it aren't going to risk their own hides to do anything about it and even if they were willing they probably don't have any evidence to do anything about it

There's even smaller scale stories of this with people like priests and sports coaches. Hell even loads of people here have probably heard about creeps in their community before and did nothing about it.
