Probably because almost the entire culture battle about trans people is fought over transwomen and whether they are women or not. So, to them, someone who wants to be a woman, but wasn't born XX, automatically is less of one (or not one). TERFs see transwomen as coming from a place of power and threatening their gender, identity, or livelihood. There is no real equivalent for men. Men largely don't have being men, transmen generally don't threaten their identity. If anything, the male equivalent would be men who are scared, legitimately scared, of being "tricked" by a transwoman - that would threaten their identity.
