But it has evolved its own place alongside bowing as a way of politely/respectfully showing friendliness. They even have a very Japanese way of doing it where you bow your head and shake hands at the same time. Of course bowing was a polite and classy thing for Obama to do. I'm sure other Republican presidents before him all did the same. Also I would say the mainstream "liberal" media is way nicer to Trump than he deserves.
